Diabetes Education Services

Diabetes education services are especially critical to those newly diagnosed. Whether you’re recently diagnosed or you’ve been living with diabetes, we have the resources to help you. Our advocates can help guide you and your family by matching you with someone who can mentor you along this new diagnosis. Along with advocacy, we prioritize mental health for our members. We are paired with licensed therapists who provide counseling services. Finally, you do not need to do this alone. Our monthly events provide an opportunity to discuss highs and lows in your journey.

Advocate Program

Our advocate program was created to support and provide resources to type one diabetics and their families during their diagnosis transition.

Newly diagnosed diabetics will be matched with an advocate who will mentor them along their journey.

Parents of the newly diagnosed will be matched with an advocate who will offer support and guidance.

Counseling Services

The mental health of our members is a high priority at our organization, especially those living with a chronic illness.

We have paired up with licensed therapists to offer counseling services. We want to ensure proper assistance to anyone in need of this service. Please message us to get more information on our counseling scholarship and how you may be eligible!

Monthly Events

Type One Diabetes is a journey full of highs and lows. Having a group of people who understand what it feels like to live with the disease every day makes that journey a little bit easier.

Each month, we host an activity to bring our community together. This is a great opportunity to meet other people living with diabetes, network with members, ask questions, and help you feel supported and empowered with your diabetes.

School Consultations

Navigating type one diabetes can be a lot to manage, let us help! We offer school consultations for any student in the Michiana area school systems.

Our consultations include monthly visitations to check on the student, facilitation with school nurses, and providing any extra resources and support for your child. We are happy to speak with individual classes about the signs of low and high blood sugar and what to do in an emergency with your diabetic student.
